In 2009, Jive Live Entertainment began in a small kitchen, in a small apartment in Santa Monica, CA. Having grown up in a small farming community in California’s Central Coast, a young Julio had a vision to create and connect with people from all different backgrounds. With only a couple of bucks in his pocket and a dream, he opened up one of the first minority owned event companies in Downtown Los Angeles.
Today Jive Live Entertainment has become a major player and leader in the LA event -production industry. The owner and President, Julio Garcia II, is a business-owning entrepreneur, special events producer, race director, fitness/health & wellness advocate, and motivational speaker. In addition to these successes, he has partnered with several local non-profits (A Place Called Home, Arts in Action, Wings for Life, Comite Mexicano Civico Patriotico and the YMCA) to help raise tens of thousands of dollars for their causes. Jive Live Entertainment has produced over 300+ events including: live shows, concerts, festivals, races, conferences, and private parties for brands such as Red Bull, The Los Angeles Dodgers, The Music Center/Grand Park, Nike, Latin Grammys, LA Clippers, Golden Road Brewing, Major League Baseball, Hard Rock Café, IRONMAN, and The City of Los Angeles. Under Julio’s leadership, Jive Live Entertainment created the very first downtown Los Angeles night time road race (a half-marathon) called the New Year’s Race. Since 2012 this annual event has attracted runners from over 24 countries, hosted over 30,000 runners and has raised thousands of dollars for its non-profit partners.
Never one to rest, Julio is now establishing a virtual online education space called “Latin Excellence” designed to serve as a resource for young entrepreneurs to become inspired and continue their growth and success in today’s competitive market. He is the proud embodiment of his own personal motto – “Happiness is everything.”
